Chase Offers: $40 Back on DirecTV
I found a Chase Offer in my Chase mobile app for $40 back after spending $20 on DirecTV with my Sapphire Reserve card . This offer is intended for new subscribers. I’ve been with DirecTV for years, but I gave it a shot anyway. Here’s how it went.
What are Chase Offers?
According to Chase’s FAQ, “Chase Offers brings you great deals from the places you love. No coupons, codes or vouchers to remember, and no registration is required. You just click on an offer to activate it for your card, and then use your card to pay in stores, online or via mobile apps and wallets. You’ll see your statement credit applied to your account automatically in 7-14 business days.”
The DirecTV Offer
As I mentioned above, the Offer Details had some language that it is only intended for new signups. See my emphasized sections of the Offer Details below:
New approved residential customers only… 1st monthly service bill of at least $20 must be paid no later than 3/23/2019 using the card associated with the offer to earn $40 back…
I’m already a DirecTV subscriber and have been for years. It’s not cheap, but the picture quality is so much better than my local cable provider… but I digress.
Normally, I pay my DirecTV bill with my Chase Ink Cash business card for 5x UR. The potential for a $40 credit was easily worth a shot despite the fact that I’m technically not eligible for the offer. So, I made a one-time $20 payment to my DirecTV account using my Sapphire Reserve card.
This morning, a few days after the charge posted, I received the following email:
I’ll update this post when I see the $40 statement credit post to my Chase account, but at this point, I fully expect that to happen in the next couple days.
UPDATE: As expected, I received the $40 statement credit a few days after writing this post.
