Status Match: Caesar’s Rewards and Wyndham Rewards

The Caesar’s Rewards and Wyndham Rewards programs are partners and share valuable benefits. In addition, if you have elite status in one program, you can match that status to the other.

While they are partners, each rewards program is managed separately and they have their own membership year. Wyndham Rewards runs from January 1 to December 31 and Caesar’s Rewards runs from February 1 to January 31.

This timing offset creates a unique opportunity at this time of year. During the months of January and February, you can match status back and forth between programs and keep both elite statuses in perpetuity.

Obviously, one would need to obtain elite status in one of the two programs to start the ball rolling. I matched my Mlife Gold to Caesar’s Diamond in Atlantic City during a promotion. A FoundersCard membership will also get you Caesar’s Diamond, although it’s not for free.

How it Works

Once your Wyndham elite status expires on December 31 (or if you don’t have Wyndham elite status), you have all of January to match to your Caesar’s status. You can do that at this link.

Then after February 1 when your Caesar’s status expires, you can match your Wyndham status back to Caesar’s at this link. Each year, you repeat this process and keep both statuses.

Pandemic Extensions

Like many others in the hospitality industry, both Caesar’s and Wyndham have generously granted 1 year extensions to their rewards program expiration dates. This is of course due to the current coronavirus pandemic and lack of travel during 2020 and into 2021.

If your Wyndham status was due to expire on December 31, 2020, it’s been extended to December 31, 2021. Likewise for Caesar’s until January 31, 2022.

Additional Caesar’s Diamond Celebration Dinner

The above extensions, for the most part, make the timing of my post moot. So, why bother writing this? Miles to Memories has a recent post about earning Caesar’s Diamond status again–even if it’s been extended through January 2022.

Marc’s theory is that by matching Wyndham Diamond to Caesar’s Diamond after February 1–even if you’re already Diamond–you’ll receive another Caesar’s Celebration Dinner for 2021. The Celebration Dinner is a $100 credit that can be redeemed at most Caesar’s owned restaurants.

There doesn’t seem to be any risk in trying this, so I know I’m going to give it a shot. I still haven’t used my 2020 Celebration Dinner. Marc also urges matching Caesar’s to Wyndham before January 31 as part of this 2nd Dinner qualification. I don’t feel that extra step is necessary if your Wyndham Diamond has been extended.
