United Extending Club Pass Expirations
With ongoing travel restrictions during the pandemic, United Airlines is automatically extending the expiration date of United Club one-time passes.
United Club one-time passes are a popular annual benefit of the Chase United Explorer and United Business credit cards.
According to United’s Twitter account, passes that are set to expire between April 1 and August 31, 2021 will all have a new expiration date of September 30, 2021.
My understanding is that this extension is only for passes that have not been extended in the past.
This is welcome news from United as most of their United Club lounges remain closed due to COVID-19.
These are the only United Club locations that are currently open:
- Chicago O’Hare (near Gate B6)
- Denver (near Gate B44 and near Gate B32)
- Honolulu (above Gates G2 and G3)
- Houston Intercontinental (near Gate E11 and near Gate C1)
- Los Angeles (near Gate 71A)
- New York/Newark (near Gate C74)
- San Francisco (near Gate F11)
- Washington Dulles (near Gate C7 and near Gate D8)

I just got 4 passes that expire on September 30, 2021. I am already confirmed on 4 United flights before then— all to airports where the clubs are closed until further notice.

Hi Jim, unless something has changed, United was going to begin opening up it’s closed lounges right about now. Not all at once though.

I have two United Club passes that expired March 31, 2021. Due to pandemic I was unable to use them. Will they be honored for my flights in September 2021

Hi Patty. According to United, they should be accepted if they had not been extended to March 31 prior. I would certainly try to use them.

My passes expired on April 30th. Since we haven’t flown because of Covid but are flying overseas on May 10th…..would they be extended?????

I currently have Two United Club Passes expiring on May 8 2023. I got these because I am holding Chase Credit card. Can I get it extended by 10 days as I am travelling United on May 18. All my previous passes had expired because most of United Clubs were closed wherever I travelled during Pandemic. At least tell me if I can use these passes 10 days after its Expiry date.
