American Express is offering a limited time increased signup bonus for its Starwood Preferred Guest Personal and Business credit cards. The signup bonuses are normally 25,000 Starpoints. This limited time offer ends April 5, 2017. The Personal and Business card offers are a bit different. With the Personal card, you earn 25,000 bonus Starpoints after you use your new Card to make $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months and an extra 10,000 bonus Starpoints after you make an additional $2,000 in purchases within the first 6 months. Limited Time 50k Signup Bonus for BarclayCard Arrival+
For a limited time, you can get a 25% higher signup bonus for the BarclayCard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard. Instead of 40,000 “miles”, new cardholders who meet the spending requirement will receive 50,000 “miles”. As I wrote in my full review of the BarclayCard Arrival Plus, the word “miles” is only a marketing gimmick. The “miles” are really just points that you can redeem for statement credits against certain travel expenses. Effectively, it’s a cashback credit card with limitations on how you can redeem your points. Card Details Earn 40,000 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days Earn 2X miles on all purchases Get 5% miles back after each redemption…

I’ve Finally Been Approved for Chase Sapphire Reserve
At long last, after my first ever credit card denial for this card back in August, I’ve been approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. Despite being quite above the limit from Chase’s 5/24 rule (5 new credit cards in the last 24 months), I was instantly (ok, it took over 4 months) approved at my local branch. My motivation for visiting my local branch today was the recent news that Chase would be reducing the signup bonus for Sapphire Reserve from 100,000 UR points to 50,000. If I wasn’t pre-approved (see below) at the bank, I would not have applied again as that attempt would have surely been fruitless. I would…

Higher Signup Bonus Offers for Amex Credit Cards
If you’re looking to apply for a credit card from American Express, see if you can find a better offer online. This method has been spotty lately, but in the last few hours, it seems many higher offers have become readily available. Simply open an incognito or private browsing window in your favorite browser, navigate to the americanexpress.com website (don’t log in), and click on “Personal Cards.” If you only see standard offers, close the window and try again. Usually within 2 or 3 tries, I see the better offers. These are only some of the offers I was able to see before writing this post: Give it a shot…

Amex Platinum – Frozen MR Points and MPX Concerns
American Express has been pushing back rather hard against those they deem to be abusing Amex credit cards for points and benefits. Frozen points and closed loopholes appear to be in response to people using online application links discovered by some technically savvy individuals. These links tend to be attractive because they offer much higher than normal signup bonuses for the Platinum Card. There have been reports from those that used these links that their Membership Rewards accounts have been frozen and previously awarded points have been clawed back. In addition to the points freezing, a once reliable method of monetizing the airline incidental fee credit suddenly stop working. The common…

Higher Credit Card Signup Bonuses In Chase Branches vs Online
There are multiple reports by Reddit Churning users who are seeing higher signup bonus offers in Chase bank branches than the normal bonuses online. These offers appear to be targeted to certain pre-approved customers so YMMV. Most of the Miles and Points blogs are not reporting on this since they are paid referral fees for credit card signups via their own online links. Sending readers to branches to apply for credit cards is bad for their business. This could be the beginning of Chase attempting to rein in some referral costs. Sapphire Preferred – 70,000 point bonus So far, the credit cards offering higher bonuses are Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase…

AAA Member Rewards Visa – Solid Cashback Credit Card for Travelers
Are all these points and miles travel credit cards too complicated for you? The AAA Member Rewards Visa Signature card is a great credit card for travelers who are just looking for simple cashback. If you are a Bank of America Preferred Rewards client, the benefits get even better. Don’t let the name fool you–it’s not necessary to be an AAA member to apply for this card. It’s available for anyone with suitable credit. With no annual fee and bonus cashback categories like travel, gas stations, grocery stores, and drugstores, I’m surprised this card isn’t more popular. AAA Member Rewards Card Details No Annual Fee No Foreign Transaction Fee 3% cash…

American Express has announced a unique promotion for new customers applying for their Blue Cash Everyday and Blue Cash Preferred Cards. The entire signup bonus could potentially be worth $450, depending on the offer you receive. The regular signup bonus is $100 for the Everyday and $150 for the Preferred. These cashback bonuses come in the form of a statement credit after spending $1000 in the first 3 months after approval. Coming Soon: Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card
According to an article on Bloomberg, Chase is continuing its recent push to woo credit card users away from its competition–this time focusing on lucrative business owners. The new Ink Business Preferred‘s bonus structure appears to be targeted at a different type of user than Chase’s current line of Ink Business cards. Due to be launched in the 4th quarter, the Chase Ink Business Preferred will offer new applicants an 80,000-point signup bonus after spending $5,000 within the first three months. Card holders will also earn 3 points per $1 for the first $150,000 spent on travel, telecommunications, shipping and advertising on social-media and search engines. The card will carry a $95 annual fee,…
