Do you have any travel plans scheduled for the next 3 months? Check the “Offers for You” section of your americanexpress.com account. You may find a targeted offer for $50 off your next hotel stay of $250 or more. I had it available on 5 of my 7 Amex cards. I’ve also read reports of a similar deal for $25 off a $100 hotel stay. YMMV.
The Amex Offers program is one of my favorite credit card perks. Everyone with an American Express card should be taking advantage of this—if you’re not, you’re leaving money behind! The Amex Offers program is reason enough to have at least one, if not multiple American Express Cards in your wallet.
For newcomers to these deals, check out my primer: Amex Offers = Too Good To Miss Out!. I wrote about how to connect your American Express card to your social media account and how to add offers to your card via Twitter, Facebook, or your americanexpress.com account. Twitter is the easiest method, but many offers–like this one–are targeted, so you should be logging on to your americanexpress.com account to find and add them. My primer will also show you what to do if you have this offer on more than one of your American Express cards.
Get a one-time $50 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $250 or more on all room charges, including room rate, when you pay for your reservation directly with an eligible merchant by 3/31/2016. Eligible merchants are hotels, motels, and bed & breakfasts that accept the American Express Card. Timeshares, banquets, events, and vacation packages are not “eligible merchants”. I checked all the hotels near my current location and every one of them was listed as eligible for this offer.
Even if your travel plans are tentative, you should add this offer to your card if you see it. According to the terms, enrollment in this offer is limited. Once enough members add this to their card, the offer will disappear unless you’ve already added it to yours.
