Many Helpful New Amex Offers for Graduation Gift Buying

American Express has added quite a few new offers for targeted cardholders in the past few days, many of which can save you money on a gift for your graduating senior. Whether it’s a new laptop, the gift of travel, dorm room supplies, or even crayons, American Express has a money saving offer for you.

The Amex Offers program is one of my favorite credit card perks. You can read my primer on how the program works here. In addition, you can stack these offers with additional cash back or frequent flyer miles by shopping via an online portal.

Once again, most of these offers are targeted. You may see some, none or all of these in your americanexpress.com account.

Computers and Office Supplies

Get a one-time $150 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $799+ in one or more transactions online at dell.com by 6/12/2016. This offer only appeared on one of my American Express cards, so it appears highly targeted.

Get a one-time $25 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions online at staples.com by 6/19/2016. The offer terms go on to say, “Not valid for e-gift card purchases.” This is true for Staples e-gift cards, however orders for merchant e-gift cards are getting the credit. I purchased 6 eBay $100 e-gift cards (I’ll write about why in a future post) and received all 6 offer credits.

Travel

Get a 1X $35 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $175+ on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay with DoubleTree by Hilton™ from 5/3/16 to 6/30/16.  Book direct with DoubleTree by Hilton. Excludes advance purchase rates.

Get a one-time $200 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $1000+ with Air France by 6/10/2016. Purchase must be made on Air France’s US website.

Dorm Room

Get 5% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make eligible purchases of $100+ in a single transaction in-store at The Home Depot by August 31, 2016, on up to $2,000 in total purchases.

Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more transactions online at MyPillow.com by 7/11/2016.
