Thanks to ChetHazelEyes over at Reddit Churning for the alert about this fantastic offer. Apply now for the Personal Platinum Card from American Express and get 100,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3000 with the card in the first 3 months. This offer is not available to applicants who have or have had this product in the past.
The link to this offer can be found here. It takes you to the landing page with all the offer terms spelled out. Note that, as usual, the $450 annual fee is not waived the first year.
Main Platinum Card Benefits
I consider the Platinum Card to be more of a “benefits” card than a card to use for everyday purchases. I will only put occasional spend on it, mainly to take advantage of Amex Offers. Following are the benefits that I use most:
Airport Lounge Access and Priority Pass Select
Enjoy complimentary access to over 900 airport lounges, including The Centurion lounges, Delta Sky Clubs, Airspace and Priority Pass Select Lounges.
Fee Credit for Global Entry or TSA Pre✓
When you apply for and receive your Global Entry or TSA Pre✓, not only can you get expedited screening at select airports, but you’ll receive a credit for the application fees on your statement. Receive a statement credit every 5 years after you apply for Global Entry ($100) or TSA Pre✓ ($85).
$200 Airline Fee Credit
Select a qualifying airline and then receive up to $200 a year in statement credits when incidental fees are charged by the airline to your Platinum Card account. This benefit renews each calendar year, so you can take advantage of a total of $400 in credits during your first year of Card membership.
Hilton HHonors and Starwood Gold Status Enrollment
Enjoy elite member benefits at two major hotel and resort chains.
The normal signup bonus is 40,000 MR points, so this is a fantastic offer that doesn’t come around very often. If you travel, 100k MR points can be worth well over $2,000 when transferred to travel partners. Even if you don’t travel, there are many ways to redeem Membership Rewards points.
If you’ve considered signing up for the Platinum Card from American Express, now’s the time. Act quickly as offers this generous tend not to stick around for very long.
