New American Express Centurion Lounge at PHL Opens

American Express has opened its newest Centurion Lounge at Philadelphia International Airport. The Centurion Lounge offers fresh, seasonally-inspired fare developed in partnership with renowned local chefs, signature cocktails, premium spirits and curated wines, and high-speed Wi-Fi. These services and amenities are offered at no additional cost once you enter the Lounge.

Access to The Centurion Lounge is complimentary for global Platinum Card and Centurion Members. Platinum Card members who receive complimentary access may enter with up to two guests at no additional charge. Centurion members may enter with up to two guests or immediate family (spouse or domestic partner, and children under 18)  at no additional charge.

Located in PHL Terminal A West, near Gate A14, the newest Centurion Lounge can be reached from any other terminal by walking or via shuttle bus.

Cuisine is designed by Four-Time James Beard Award Winning Israeli Cuisine Pioneer, Chef Michael Solomonov. Solomonov is the executive chef and co-owner of Philadelphia’s pioneering Israeli restaurant, Zahav. He is the 2011 James Beard Award winner for “Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic”, a 2016 James Beard Award winner for “Best International Cookbook” and “Book of the Year” for his and business partner/co-author Steven Cook’s first cookbook, Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, and the 2017 James Beard Award’s “Outstanding Chef.”

You can also enjoy a cocktail developed by one of the nation’s top mixologists, Jim Meehan. Meehan is one of the nation’s top mixologists, a contributing editor of FOOD & WINE, the deputy editor of FOOD & WINE’s annual cocktail guide, and the author of the PDT Cocktail Book: a bartender’s guide from his James Beard Award-winning bar.

You might choose to explore wines handpicked by renowned wine authority (and personal friend) Anthony Giglio. Giglio is one of the most entertaining wine and spirits authorities on the planet. He has authored several books, including three editions of FOOD & WINE ‘s Wine Guide; five editions of the Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s Guide, and his highly regarded first book, Cocktails in New York.

With the opening of the Centurion Lounge in Philadelphia, American Express continues to expand its lounge footprint in airports worldwide. The other Centurion Lounge locations are located in Dallas (DFW), Hong Kong (HKG), Houston (IAH), Las Vegas (LAS), New York LaGuardia (LGA), Miami (MIA), Seattle (SEA) and San Franscisco (SFO).
