Amex Slashes Business Platinum Pay with Points
According to a post today by TPG, American Express is drastically reducing a recently improved benefit of its Business Platinum Card effective June 1. The 50% Pay with Points Airline Bonus is being reduced to 35%. This bonus was only recently enhanced for Platinum Business Card Members back in October, 2016. The enhancement lasted a mere 9 months. In addition, Amex is putting a 500,000 cap on rebates each calendar year. The cap will only affect heavy users of this benefit. Alaska Air Lounges Nix Priority Pass Guest Access
Beginning May 1, Alaska Air will no longer accommodate guests of Priority Pass members at most of its airport lounges. The new access policy will be in effect at its lounges in Los Angeles (LAX), Seattle (SEA), and Portland, Oregon (PDX). As of this writing, Alaska’s Anchorage (ANC) lounge has not indicated any change in access. This policy change only affects Priority Pass members, not those with an Alaska Lounge membership. Alaska Lounge Members are welcome to bring immediate family (spouse or domestic partner and children under the age of 21) or as many as two guests at no extra charge. What is Priority Pass? Here’s a small sample of featured 14% cash back merchants. If you’re not familiar with shopping portals, you can read my full primer here.
